Dear Coaches

We are happy to have you participate in the 2011 Cumberland Cross Country Classic, Friday 10/14. We will have 4 races -- a 5k for high school boys and girls and a 2500m race for middle school boys and girls. Start times are listed below.

*Teams that have rsvp'd: Cumberland, Schalick, Bridgeton, Sacred Heart, Woodstown, Gloucester
*Teams awaiting school approval to attend: Penns Grove Boys
*Middle School teams - Hopewell, Stow Creek, Vineland's QuickSilver Club, Bridgeton, Gloucester

NOTE: All high school boys in one race (no separate JV race). Same for girls.

1.Have your bus driver drop your team off at the parking lot on the west side of the school, nearest the track. The drivers can park in that lot as well.

2.Please be advised that there will be other sports competitions taking place on the property. Ask your team to keep clear of the finishing area when there is a race in progress. (if they are not competing). Volunteers will be working to supervise that area for safety.

3. The weather forecast for Friday is 75 degrees, 70% humidity, with a 50% chance of rain and 11mph SW winds.
In the case of dangerous weather a postponement will be posted on the web site by 12:30pm, Friday. We will run in rain, but not if there is lightning or severe conditions.

4. We plan to have results for you at the end of the meet. Results and pics will also be posted on the web site by late Friday evening.

5. When you arrive you are to check in at the table in front of the tennis courts. High School teams please check by 3:30pm, Middle school teams please check in by 4pm.

6. Please make sure your runners are at the Starting line area 10 minutes prior to their race start. The schedule of races is as follows:
HS Boys - 4pm, HS Girls - 4:25.
Midd Sch Boys 4:45, Midd Sch Girls - 5pm.

7. Coaches, it is your responsibility to turn in the cards your runners will receive at the finish line. Please collect them asap, write the school and the runners name on the card and turn them in at the table. We suggest that you designate someone with you to specifically handle this responsibility.

8. Medals will be awarded to the first 15 finishers in the High School Boys race and High School Girls race. The top 10 finishers in the Middle School races will also receive medals.
There will be a trophy for the top HS Boys and the top HS Girls team.
The medals will be handed out at the end of the finish line chute.

9. Please note that course maps will be available at the table where you check in. Each attending HS is familiar with the course, but if you have any questions, be sure to ask. A brief explanation of the course will be given at the finish line area at about 3:20pm by Coach Bagley.

*Please check this web site for updates Thursday evening.

Thanks,
Jamie
